Subhas Chandra Bose , popularly known as Netaji , was a prominent figure in India's fight for independence against British colonial rule. He was born on January 23, 1897 , in Cuttack, and his unwavering commitment to his country made him a fearless leader. Bose joined the Indian National Congress, a political party at the forefront of the freedom movement. He played a crucial role in organizing protests and advocating for the rights of the Indian people. However, Bose grew disillusioned with the Congress' nonviolent approach and began seeking more radical means to achieve freedom. In 1941, Bose formed the Forward Bloc, a political group aimed at uniting all anti-British forces. He also sought assistance from countries like Germany and Japan during World War II to overthrow British rule.
